NIKKEI OPEN FOR STATE OF CALIFORNIA BUSINESS

NIKKEI Environmental LLC is pleased to announce that the company is eligible to bid on contracts with the State of California, the California Department of Transportation, the California Public Utilities Commission, and the Sacramento Municipal Utilities District.

  • The California Department of General Services has certified NIKKEI as a Micro Small Business (CASB 2016575). As a Micro Small Business, NIKKEI is entitled to a 5% bid preference on applicable state solicitations with over 200 California state agencies.  NIKKEI is eligible to compete for small business contracts which make up 25% of the state’s annual contracting dollars.
  • The California Department of Transportation certified NIKKEI as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), a Small Women Business Enterprise, and a Small Minority Business Enterprise.  In 2019, CalTRANS awarded 17.6% of their contracts to DBE small businesses.
  • NIKKEI also received notice that the company has been registered as a vendor in the State of California Public Utilities Commission’s (PUC) Supplier Clearinghouse.  NIKKEI has been designated by the PUC as a Women/Minority Business Enterprise (WMBE) and is eligible to compete in the PUC’s Utility Supplier Diversity Program.
  • NIKKEI is registered to do business in Sacramento County and qualifies for a 7% bid preference as a certified local small business. 
  • The Sacramento Municipal Utilities District (SMUD) approved NIKKEI’s application for SEED Vendor status.  SMUD’s Supplier Education and Economic Development (SEED) program provides small businesses competitive incentives on contracts. Under the program, large companies teaming with NIKKEI are also eligible for SEED incentives.
